As my former students might say: "Magic sheets are fire"

I'm absolutely loving ETC magic sheets and customizable direct selects. I used to be a Grand MA guy, but the visual interface I can set up with ETC's magic sheets and augment3d are a game changer. I programmed my first show this past January having spent many (many) hours setting up some robust magic sheets. I thought it would be terrible and that I would need up going back to the console keys and command line for everything, but I was so wrong! The touch screen was integral and I can only imagine how streamlined it would be on a @Gio or Eos, but even my little Ion XE made programming so quick. I found myself adding useful macros and commands to the magic sheet constantly, but time and experience will help me know to include in the future. I found that I didn't even look down on the paper magic sheet that I took several hours creating...although those several hours were still considerably less than it took to create the digital magic sheets.

Anywho, I'm going to post some training videos on magic sheets and other useful programming tips and lighting design concepts in the near future. Until then, here is a thing I did showcasing some of my more recent magic sheets. These were set up for a High School in the area that needed a consistent rep plot to reduce the stress on the technical director (I've been there and I totally get it!) by preventing them from having to hand and refocus fixtures all the time. Take a looksie!
