Step 1: Explain the Why
Helping your admin understand the “why” you are asking for a lighting upgrade is a great way to lay the foundation for your request.
Are there other schools in your district with more advanced lighting than yours? Equity is a big deal in public education, so alerting your admin to this inequity will help them understand exactly what and why you are asking for expensive equipment
If your district is equal in all equipment, take a broader look at neighboring programs. Specifically ones at the same conference as you. For example: what do other 5A schools in your area have?
Step 2: Explain the What
